The City of Atlanta periodically receives applications for annexation into the City. The Department of Planning and Community Development maintains a database of all annexations in order to help track and manage them from the time of application to their final disposition. The database includes the boundary of the annexation along with its current status and geographic and demographic information used to help departments develop a service plan. Records cover the period from the original incorporation of the City in 1847 to annexations currently in process.
